You may now consider extending the article to include our latest research findings on the Pink, Black and White Terrace locations.
Our new Royal Society paper "Forensic cartography with Hochstetter’s 1859 Pink and White Terraces survey: Te Otukapuarangi and Te Tarata" has another fortnight to run for FOC downloads at:- http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/03036758.2017.1329748Rex B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08693481522953440701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3398806118503572758.post-58067623775155203832013-03-28T21:28:59.811+13:002013-03-28T21:28:59.811+13:00Yes, sorry. All of the images are from the National Library of New Zealand, and date from around the 1870s and 1880s, so either shortly before or after the Tarawera Eruption. If you do a search on the NLNZ website (http://natlib.govt.nz/) you should be able find them. When I have a chance, I will go back and enter caption details. There is so much puff and blather going on about the disappearance of the Pink and White Terraces this past year, but I haven't seen anything else that explores the political and social consequences of that upheaval. A new and thoughtful angle. Thanks.

FKFionanoreply@blogger.com
